LC200 is around 13 litres per 100 kms if 6th gear is not used (which it is rarely used due to the way the gearbox is programmed). I do know that the economy is slightly better with a chip, but just comparing unmodified vehicles.
I was under the impression that the 3.0L is more economical than the 2.7L but I never get 10 around town.....going on the car's own instrumentation.

Usually just above 11. However, I drive to the city and it's lots of stops and starts.

Worst ever 13, but that was on Fraser in low range and Sand Mode selected.

Best...on the cruise recently to Bribie Island....7.2

What about a long drive on a highway...? I often get 800-820kms off a tank going down south and thats filling its tank with 74L's.

Sorry Dorko, who was that question for?

I've never driven any longer than about 3 hrs in my D4 and that had a lot of hilly stuff, so not great for the fuel figures.

    Cheers,

    Kev.

Kev, the problem with the D1 V8 was the Lucas dizzy and amp module. Replacing them with Australian ones transformed the vehicle. My 95 D1 3.9 auto has all original drive train at 280,000k - I love it. I cant get rid of it!

    Cheers

That car had heaps of other major issues - D1s are not all what they are cracked up to be.

    Yes they are.
Plenty of them still around which probably speaks volumes.

I had both a V8 and a tdi and the tdi is way better and only issue is a fuse blows every 8 months for no apparent reason.

Sorry to hear you had those issues.
we have other cars too and never had any issues there either(touch my balls).

    Must have luck than.

Yeah one day I'll get an accurate a - z figure for a long drive.

Although, I'm not unhappy at all. In fact, after owning a Berlina before this, I'm gob-smacked that the D4 beats it in every type of driving. My worst figure of 13 after a week on Fraser was pretty amazing.

On the cruise it even gives my wife's petrol Pug 307 a run.

    So, pretty happy
