Thanks all - very happy to have taken the plunge and become Mrs Landy

UncleHo - You're right... it has been serviced every 10,000kms by a LR specialist and I'll continue to take it there.

Can't remember who asked about the oil leak near transfer case being a big job? The answer is YEP! The parts are about $2 but it takes 8hrs of labour The transmission has to come out in order to fix it so that's 4 hrs out and 4hrs back in. Bugger. BUT the guy I spoke to said he can't even be sure that's what it is (he didn't inspect it) and with that type of problem it's best to just leave it until it's gushing out... then fix it.

Yeo some might pee'd off people on here huh?! Mostly owners of the first lot of Disco 3's which I have heard were a bit of a shocker and had lots of teething probs.

I wonder how many people have written to the guy with positive stories of their LRs that have been brilliant reliable cars...

Welcome to the fold Mrs Landy. It appears that our dogs barked louder than theirs.

    That advice is sound.

With a bit of luck it'll fix itself.

Here's to lots of Disco fun
Congratulations! SWMBO's D2 is a 2004 model auto and has done 190,000 Kms and is still running great. The trick here is that it has been dealer serviced since new and we're pedantic about maintenance. It's no Toorak tractor and has done many Kms of off road outback travel, including the Simpson Desert twice.
So again congratulations on your purchase and wish you many kms of enjoyable travel.
If it hasn't been done already, replace the fuel pressure regulator and inhibitor switch if it's an auto. Get it out of the way as they will fail sooner or later, usually when you least need it.
