There is a meeting happening in a couple days between the LR club rep and LRA. I have asked for him to bring it up with them so hopefully an answer will be forthcoming in the near future.

Was at a Land Rover marketing event here in the UK last month. When they asked for any extra coments mentioned that in Australia the Defender was a hard sell due to the lack of any service back up outside the capitals. Said they would remain a minor player in the market for ever until this was corrected as the volume Defender buyers / users were going to be in the country not the capitals. While I think over stateing the impact of such a comment made by one person on the other side of the world hope this message was not miss understood and over reacted to !

Obviously they dont understand that lack of dealers equals lack of sales across the board, not just flagship models like the RRS, D4 and FL2 etc.

I'm waiting on a response too... no doubt it will be the same. If it's any different I'll post it.

    Answer received
    Joshua,

Had my meeting with LRA this morning. I'll send out the full minutes to all the Clubs in a couple of days time, but in the meantime I raised your query (which I might add, caused quite a bit of consternation at the Sydney LROC last night!!!). They have just launched a new website and there are a couple of glitches, one of which is the Defender information, which will be fixed next week. They assured me that Defender is part of their plans for at least the next five years (which is as far as they go out)!! I think they were quite impressed that someone had spotted it!
