    ahem "local" Mercedes. They do not like Commodores up there.

    Does anybody know when the engine in the EB was discontinued? Reason is, I was wondering if it could be dropped into a newer vehicle?

    Basic 4.0 engine went to AU3 in 2002, there are of course differences in accessories, belt drives, timing marks, but all do-able.
