Hi All
Landy Andy I thought I was doing well with a husky 340 and 455 but i guess the 120 just blows me out of the water :):D
Have fun on the firewood side
Regards Mark
Acetone???
pull the chains off and soak in petrol... works for bloodwood and ironbark ;)
p.s. love the huskies
Thinking of watering the bar oil down 50/50 with diesel so the chain "washes" better.
The gum tends to get hot and burn on the chain.
Logs are very clean so may work.

Yeah, Stihl still haven't learned what really good AV is in their large saws yet
and my 79cc Makita/Dolmar would damn near outcut it, with much better AV and now I have an OE HD air cleaner setup, better air filtration to boot.
BTW Andy, the Dolkita pulls a 30" bar buried to the hilt in dead 'Box too, and is still stock. (be ported in a month or so, and there will be before/after vids ;) )
A mate in SA runs three Dolmar PS7900's, and regularly uses a 32" bar in Red Gum. All his are ported, so he hardly trots out the 3120 now. BTW he's half way through a contract fell, has dropped well over 7,500 trees (Casuarina's ) in the last couple of months with the Dollies.
Oh, forgot to add, track down BobL on some of the chainsaw/woodworking/milling forums.
Damned nice bloke, very smart (he's a boffin like Ben :D ) he's from over your way so knows your timber (his Dad was a faller) and is big time into milling so may know what will work to reduce your sap buildup.
Soak the chain in turps. That works better than kero.
Just finished cutting up and stacking over 10tonnes of Wandoo.Filled the saw up 6 times, sharpened it twice, retensioned the chain once.
The chain looks like brand new,no gum or varnish on the chain or bar.The chain is dry but there is oil visible in the links.Seeing 2 sharpens and 1 tension for the volume of wood cut my new SECRET WANDOO LUBRICANT is a winner:cool::cool::cool::cool::cool:
I made a 50/50 batch of BP chain and bar oil and Penrite fully synthetic ATF(as I had some on hand).
So impressed Im tempted to try it in dry jarrah.I doubt it would work as its a very dusty/dirty sawdust.
Would recomend the ATF blend to anybody cutting green timber.
