Super Cheap Auto Buys Rays Outdoors

Super Cheap are going to buy Ray's outdoors. Apparently Super Cheap own the BCF stores. Will be interesting to see what this does for competition in the camping equipment space....

And i thought the government, was "trying" to stop things like this from happening, to give the public a fair go & watch price fixing etc.
It will be interesting to see what happens. Thx Tote.

I don't think BCF and Rays pricings were too good anyway.
Advertise Sale and the mulitude will flock. You need to check prices more and more these days, one man's sale price is the everyday normal price somewhere else. What hope do the customers have?

My mate worked for Boots when it was taken over by Ray's....said he was tighter than a duck's bum and the drop in product lines/quality etc was significantly noticeable once Ray had entrenched himself and the Great Outdoors stuff was gone..

yeah it does. I shop at supercrap every now and then but get the bulk of my auto stuff from Auto 1.

I tend not to use parts stores much since buying the disco cause they all look at you with a blank face when you say "Land Rover" all my stuff comes in the post these days. I generally only get oil and filters from parts stores these days.

When it comes to BCF we got one here in bathurst some time ago, I went in to get a water drum for camping cause i cracked my old one and BCF was double the price of bunnings and i usually steer clear of bunnings aswell.

Totally agree with all of the above. I actually started a post "Whats Happened to Ray's" some time ago. I couldn't buy any decent maps there at the time. Since then it's just become worse and worse with poor quality goods covering the shelves.
Time for a new player to get into the market but hey, it costs heaps and the last one to try in Melbourne was Graingers and they went into liquidation about 18 months ago.
I'll just shop more and more on line, sorry for the retail sector, but when I can buy anything from car parts to much better quality underwear at great prices, I'll be sending my $$ overseas.
