    Land Rover destroys NASA hopes!

You may have seen the video of yesterday's abortive Alice Springs balloon launch by NASA.

The vehicle tipped over by the balloon's gondola was a Discovery 1.

See NASA balloon crashes in Alice Springs | Northern Territory News | Darwin, Northern Territory, Australia | ntnews.com.au

There were pics in the paper of the Disco on its side.

Not the first Rover that NASA has left lying in a desert.

There were a couple of Lunar Rovers they've dumped some place. Have to be unregistered by now.

You won't find me on: faceplant; Scipe; Infragam; LumpedIn; ShapCnat or Twitting. I'm just not that interesting.

Yep. They'll need a blue slip before they can get back on the road in NSW!

I never thought to look. I saw it on the news in Darwin but I think yesterday's NT newspaper had a rear close-up of the Disco on its side. I've tossed the paper out so I can't check.

If it a red on white NT plate it will be numeric only (no letters).
I don't remember all the plate numbers of the Discos I used to service, but there is a better than fair chance that I know the owner.
