    Stretch Defender on Discover Tasmania

I was just watching Discover Tasmania on 7two and they had a tour called Piners and Miners. As a tour vehicle they had a six door glass top defender with dual rear wheels and was fitted with rail wheels (not sure of correct name) so it can go on the old train tracks.

Real cool looking vehicle, now I want to go on the tour just for a drive in the defer.

Check out this page Piners and Miners - Discover Tasmania

Has anyone been on this tour in the defender?

No - but we've done the rail trip that they take it on - in a train.

Would be a good trip in the Landie I reckon, as they stop in a few more spots than the train does - apparently also a bit of a "dining experience" along the way on this trip.

The Landie runs along the "ABT" railway between Strahan and Queenstown - there was a post on here about it a while back with a couple of pics.
    Cheers .........

That second window (door) looks super dodgy) - really needs to be squae.
It's not broken. It's "Carbon Neutral".

Looks to me like they have used a set of front doors, instead of making a set of square ones, probably a way to cut costs.

Had it booked for last march. Got a phone call week before to say it had broken down so had to do the train instead.
