    banks class action

since the who har with the IMF taking the banks to task over the exorbadent fees and charges has anyone noticed any action?
i know that the NAB has already started to refund their customers and ive just noticed that westpack has had the chance to hit me with 2 $40 overdrawn charges and hasnt..
getting all the charges back from the bank would be nice (if it happens) but if this law suite has stopped them charging like woonde bulls thats not bad either.

    cheers phil

    Stuff the banks all together.

If I overdraw the Credit Union writes me a letter to let me know.

Actually, this new tax that KRUDD wants to put on mining should also be applied to banks and their massive profits!!!!

Yep if we're going to tax "super" profits the banks would be first and then the cosy duopoly of supermarkets that we have. At least the mining companies generate jobs and some of the money goes back into subcontractors etc.

I'd bet the supermarkets and banks employ more people including subcontractors than the big mines which are affected.

Agreed, however we would all be better off if the core of the problem was addressed - ie the uncontrolled government spending which has given rise to the need for unjustified taxes.

I totally agree, we should have had a bigger recession.

Hows this for Credit Unions. (NSWTCU) I got a letter today from the Credit Union. They've just refunded me $90 into my account as they pick up an error on their part. I wouldn't have ever known.

A few years ago they picked up a fraud on my account, called me and instantly refunded the lost money after resecuring my accounts.

The bank on the other hand made an error, overdrew my account, charged me for that. It was the best thing they could have done as otherwise I could possibly have been with them for the last 15 years instead of the credit union.
    Cheers
