    Federal Tyres???

I am considering the Federal MS351 [all terrain] tyre as a replacement tyre on my Rangie LSE.

Has any one here got anything they can tell me about them please?

Puncture resistance due to rock penetration [both tread and sidewall] and good grip [mud, clay, shale and rocks] figure very high on my list of requirements due to the vehicle spending a fair bit of time on the Victorian fire trails and tracks. Sand running doesn't count and long life is low on the list of priorities because I usually get rid of my tyres when they wear down to about 5/6mm in tread depth remaining.

Any and all information will be much appreciated.

    Cheers.
    Grumbles.

    Federal Tyres???

Best smoke I ever got was from a set of Federal tyres.
That's all they were good for.
Not seeing the ability to create roadside cumulo nimbus with a rangie....

    Cheers

I'm about to go on a little lap over to WA on some nasty tyre roads with some people who have just fitted Federal AT's to their troopy. I've just fitted Goodyear Wrangler Silenarmor's to the defender so by late July I'll have an update for you. Sorry if that's too late.

Thanks Captain_Rightfoot but it might not be too late. I am not in a desperate hurry to replace my current tyres. But regardless of whether I swap before then or not it would be terrific to hear how both the Federals and the Wranglers perform on your trip.

I hope you have a great trip.

Really, I thought that they were just fine in the wet?? Maybe I dont drive them hard enough... 265/75/16 MT's. I would have to problem recommending the MT's. No idea about the AT's. As for car tyres... all the drift boys are running Federals if that is any point of interest.

Maybe that confirms my post above... Good smoke, sweet F A on traction!

    Cheers
