    Towing Gold Coast To Brisbane

Trying to get an idea how much it would cost to get a 4wd towed from Merrimac to Margate.

Has anyone had one towed a similar distance or could recommend someone to do the job.

Hire a trailer in Redcliffe and collect it.
If you don't like trucks, stop buying stuff.

Only have my Hiace to tow it, not sure if its up to towing that weight. When I drove it up the ramps to change the starter motor this arvo it had a bit of burning clutch smell.

Simpler to pay someone else to deal with all the hassles as long as its not astronomically expensive.

from memory that distance on a flat rate flat bed will sting you $350+ish.

    but its been a while.

might be cheaper to befriend someone on here with a carton of their choice, payment of a full tank of juice and hire your own trailer.

Id volunteer fozzy but ATM hes got a pintle hook might be a tad slow and has 300l worth of tank to fill.

the bitza's got a v8 and drinks like a fish.

    Hi
I live at Brighton if you want to hire a trailer I have a 130 to tow it if that helps just pay for fuel...

Got a couple of quotes today. One mob from Beenleigh charge $180, one from the Gold Coast charge $250, or $150 if they have a backload organised.

At those prices it really isn't worth it for me to pay the cost of hiring a trailer plus fuel and take on the associated risks involved.

If I pay someone to do the job, then they do all the work plus take on the risks of something going wrong and it turns up at my front door without me having to do more than reach a bit further into my wallet.

Got to see if I win the ebay auction first though.

    Thanks for your replies.

Find out if those quotes include full insurance on the load.

Will have to look into that, I assumed that even if there is no defined insurance policy, I would still have legal recourse if there is any damage. It doesn't matter that much as I am after it mainly for parts, transmission. seats, wheels and a few other things.

The main worry would be any third party damage if things went wrong and that would be the tow truck drivers problem, not sure if I would be covered for that if I was towing it myself.
