Maybe being transported interstate from the Outback Land Rover Heritage Drive?![]()
Anyone know anything about the low loader with 3 series landrovers on the back headed south into Canberra on Saturday afternoon? It went past before I really saw it properly. Nearly turned round and gave chase.

Tote

If you saw them passing somewhere between Bourke and Canberra then, yes, they were vehicles returning from the Outback Land Rover Heritage Drive 2010. For information about the drive see http://www.olrhd2010.com .
They were the Trailer Queens making their way back home after the Outback Heritage Drive. Some of us drove all the way.
Ok - so one other vehicle also did a little time on a trailer
Hmm I wonder who that belongs too.

My camera died so only had the mobile phone to take a few pics.
The 101 had an ongoing ignition problem - probably coil and condenser - when the pic was taken it had just died for the second time and it was easier to tow than try and fix it in the desert. Later changed coils so it would run but still missed from time to time.

Is it a point type Dist or an electronic type??? if electronic a late high voltage coil will give the amplifier grief and the coil will heat up, causing the coil to give trouble,I had to replace a new bosch GT40R (resistor type) with a Lucas for the rangie, coil now runs cool and no further problems, I also had to replace the Vacc advance unit, that will also give an electrical type symptom, I put on an exchange one from "advance diaphragm options"
cheers
Had the original 24v twin point (no vacuum advance) dizzy. After going through two original coils put in a Bosch GT40R coil (ballast resistor) running off 12v into the 24v dizzy. Worked OK for a couple of hundred km and started missing again but still able to maintain speed. This was most likely the condensor failing. The original 24v ignition system is now gone and have an electronic system fitted - works perfectly just need to work out a compromise timing position for dual fuel.
