Of course God allows us to disobey him in this, with the penalty of a shorter life and suffering. All animal fat contains killer Cholesterol.
I'm guessing no fried black pudding at the Last Supper then?

Sorry, you get a different deity covering curries and Asian cuisine. The chap mentioned above only looks after fish and chips and sandwiches.

    Saturday till 12:30pm
    All other times closed...

Bring back the local IGA etc, with personal service, people who knew you...

And if you cant sort your life around these times.. You need to re-think life and its ideals...
You could just move to WA?

It's not thaaaaat bad..... (But even NZ has 24 hour shopping centers, EFTPOS everywhere, and fuel stations open 365 days of the year! I got a bit of a shock when I first arrived!)

Still, it's a great place to live

Yep and it should stay that way. If people can not get it together enough to shop in shopping hours they really need to get a life or support their local deli or IGA.
Most of this crap comes from people who do not work or have family members that industry. The rubbish is the retailer like wollworths and coles just want more money and market share, they are not interested in what is good for the consumer. These companies will not pay penalties for additional hours. What they want to do is just have them converted to normal hours.
See if most other wont work for penalties or additional monies on weekends, nights or public holidays. And generally these are the lowest paid workers in our community anyway.
This is just about self centered people who are of the "I,I,I" mentality. Yes some industry need to operate 24/7 but not most retailers.
I do think it is a good idea that furniture and electrical be allowed to open weekends, but still with penalty rates. See how eager everyone is if they have to actually pay for the convenience.

You should have been in WA prior to the mid 80's.
TV was intermittent off at midnight on at 7am off at 11am on at 4pm.
Petrols stations were on roster on weekends and not open at all after 7pm.
Some towns did not even have a 7day a week mini mart let alone a 24hr.
    But we all survived.
