This sort of **** make my blood boil.
How about take it to your council and have it humanely euthanased f you have gone to the effort of trapping it.

I'm with DB a wheelie bin and water is bitch the last minutes of the animals life would be terrifying, if your not in suburbia - and I know this will probably also get calls of not fair but the fastest and most humane way to uthenase a cat is once it is trapped and settles down is to put a bit of mince on the end of the barrel of your 22 put it in the cage and the cat will sniff it, puff the trigger and it is dead instantly. I hate feral animal but hate animals dying in pain more. It may sound rough but it is the most humane way to dispose of a cat or dog with no pain and is using the above way
Thats fine and I generally agree, but what about carnivorous birds?? I love kites and eagles etc and it is natural.
Cats are the same, they are just doing what comes naturally, yes they are destructive and aggressive and need to be culled or euthanased, but in a humane way. Just because you dont like a particular animal there is no need to kill it in a painful or inhumane way. Dont see too mant people here wanting to euthanase lions, tigers etc.
Just look into the eyes of an animal dying in pain.
Absolutely no different from another human or your kids dying in un needed pain.
This particular animal killed for the fun of it, not for food.
It killed the Birds and then left it and continued the hunt.
In just six weeks it killed seven Birds in my backyard alone And I know of four other households that were after it. Regardless of whether it was ferral or some ferrals pet.
I have no quarrel with legitimate preditors, basically they are not much different than ourselves, except that city dwellers leave the killing of their food to someone else !!! They think that it's all very good, civilised and pain free, mostly it is, but I wonder how many have ever been inside a slaughter house. I wonder if they could stop from chundering ?
Country folk are far more realistic about life and death and dont think
anything of chopping of a chooks head or butchering a beast.
What about being paid to trap wild Dingo's or dogs ? They suffer a
bit before they die but thats out in the bush and ok, eh.
It just seems that trapping or shooting killer cats or dogs around suburbia,
is just a bit to close to home and is just too nasty and horrible.
I dont like animals to suffer and I try try to put them down cleanly and
quickly when I have to, even in this case, tho I was delighted to do away with it.
I find it amusing when someone is taken by a shark or croc or something.
The poor beast that's just doing what it does naturally, has to be hunted
down and destroyed for being such a nasty horrible thingy.
If I was taken by one of those animals I would want the poor bugger
left alone as it would be purely my bad luck !!
We are are a weird mob, eh, full of contradictions and phobia's.
I dont mean to give offence but I largely prefer the company of the bush and the animals, than humanity.
Thats me , I make no appologies for it.
Cheers.
Robert.
Glad you were able to catch it so quick.
For me a native animal killing another native is the order of life. An introduced species inflicting it's will is not however.
Now if I am in another animals territory and it takes me that is my bad luck. If it comes into my territory then it has to deal with me.... but then I'm unlikely to encounter a shark in the middle of my suburban back yard.
Yes I'm a suburban wuss and would of had to of gassed it. I'm too soft to be able to pull the trigger or knock it on it's scone with a hammer.
