    series power steering

    at the qam meet on the weekend i came across a 109 that had a power steering conversion fitted.

    went really well..

    Seen those. My only concern would be in how to protect the vulnerable ram. Apart from that, a very nice set up.

    The recall notice on their site is interesting.

    I put, then removed a similar conversion from my SIII. The ram set up doesn't give much feel for the road, and reduces driver inputs in high speed cornering and wet clay. I think fitting P/S from a RRC or disco, and using the box on the chassis is a better idea.

    It would be nice if you could specify which similar system.

    Some people used a ram from a Ford Galaxy which did have the problems you mentioned. Your RR/Disco/Defender unit idea will require chassis modification and may not be possible with series vehicles like the forward controls.

    You won't find me on: faceplant; Scipe; Infragam; LumpedIn; ShapCnat or Twitting. I'm just not that interesting.
