Bit of info regarding Penrite oil

Both my vehicles were due for oil changes today, the defender still has summer oil in it and the L322 just drove to Sydney and back so a quick trip to Repco found me chatting to the bloke behind the counter and he suggested the Repco brand, sure enough it's made by Penrite but sold in a Repco container and best yet it's cheaper. Does Penrite make it to the same formula and specifications as the oils sold under its own name?

When I was a boy in year 10 at school I did work experience at the Mobil terminal in North Fremantle.Spent 2 weeks there,LOVED IT!!!!!
One day we made Mobil Super Drop engine oil.Into the base oil we added all the bags of addatives.
Once we finished filling the flash gold 4lt Mobil Superdrop oil containers we then filled the plain jane Target and Kmart oil containers with the same batch!!!

    PENRITE MAKING REPCO'S OIL

Hi guys I rang Penrite and I rang Repco. Penrite make Repco's oil but it is all to Repco's recipes and all Penrite do is blends it but it is all to Repco's specification. Mobil use to blend Repco's oil but that doesn't mean that they were the same oils repackaged. Now Penrite make it. Look at the specs they are completely different. Give me Penrite anyday guys Australian Owned Australian made - and its the best oil by me.

    G'day Pat303

I have used Penrite in my vehicles since the 90's and had no problems, I find it doesn't lose viscousity,I currently use it in the series 2a and also in the RRC,used to use it in the Crummiedoor and in the T--ota Crown before that, currently using 20w-50w Everyday Driving at about $30-00 per 5ltrs. all other oils are Castrol

    cheers
