Well she is a 'Ranga'
Being a "baby boomer" I had never heard the term until recently when a Gen Y friend was using the term
I would have used 'Bluey' or Red Nut but I love Ranga - a bit derogatory - just a little.
O'Farrell tweets 'off the record' comments
"Deeply off the record — I think the timetable & struggle to get candidates reflects internal poll — pre & post the ranga"
Give till it hurts....

A bit insulting to Orang Hutans ( =man of the jungle in Malay) If you ask me.
They are not overly ambitious so far as I have noticed and do not tend to stab their mates in the back. And the ladies have sweet dispositions.

SWMBO reminded me when I told her of this thread that one her friends is still commenting on my telling her that red headness is attributed by recent studies to indicate Neanderthal genes.
Studies in Europe now accept that Neanderthals coexisted with Home Sapiens for several thousand years in Europe and that the races may have mixed.
London - Red hair may be the genetic legacy of Neanderthals...
There are a lot of other posts that say the gene is different but I recall reading recently that now scientists think intermingling was possible.
Interesting thought seeing I have a very prominent forehead, hmm long arms.
Regards Philip A
Like the original Ranga's - human Ranga's are an endangered species as the red head gene is slowly being deleted from the Gene Pool. Read somewhere that within 500 years there will be no more human red heads.

yep, there was a recent TV series on the ABC that in part suggested that Neanderthals didn't merely die out but were actually bred out, at least in southern Europe by Homo Sapien.
It also traced aboriginal DNA back to the first wave of humans out of Africa, the same wave that every other race on every continent other than Africa traces back too.
Fascinating stuff.
