My comment to SWMBO when we saw it on telly was

"It probably would have improved the global gene pool had the croc finished him off"

it bit his leg, just a bit higher and it may have removed him from being able to infect the gene pool with any more of his genes!! (or at least he'd have to learn to play the flute to go to the toilet!! )

apparently he went to the pub after getting free, no stitches or anything, just dragged him bleeding self into the pub!!!!

this man is living proof that there should be a life guard stationed at the gene pool!

I believe that no longer being able to contribute to the world's gene pool also so qualifies one for the Darwin Award, so this would have worked too......

There is a member of a Redlands based fishing club with the nickname Dugong Dundee for this very reason. Reputed to have had it off with a beached dugong for a wager.

Dumb arsed Aussies aren't the only contenders for the Darwin Awards.
Met a German tourist a couple of weeks ago at Billiluna , the settlement at the North end of the Canning Stock Route, who was trying to hitch hike her way South. When told that this was not a terribly good idea replied that she'd hitch hiked down the Tanami Road last year to Alice Springs so it shouldn't be a problem.
This stupid woman was 40ish, well educated and spoke better English than me and would not be swayed from her path. She wanted to know which wells had good water and had purification tablets for those that didn't. Her plan was to hitch hike from well to well and if she got into trouble she could email or SMS friends or in an emergency activate her personal EPIRB and calmly await aid. I kid you not. She may have been intelligent and well educated but had absolutely no brains at all.
So should any human remains be found near the CSR this will probably be her.
Pehaps she should hook up with this bloke in Broome, they'd make a good pair.

Reminds me of the following story I heard back in the days when there were still loony bins in Australia. Maybe moderater should move it to Jokes. Note the punch line refers to items with the same names that many readers of Land Rover forums deal with regularly.

Anyway, this loony escaped from the loony bin you see.
Before running away, he raped two women in the laundry.
Next day headlines in the paper announced:
    "NUT SCREWS WASHERS AND BOLTS".

Another similar joke - re scammer rather than lunatic or idiot:
A midget who was in jail for fortune telling escaped.
Next day headlines in the paper announced:
    "SMALL MEDIUM AT LARGE".
