We put the disco V8 in my wifes name when we bought it, then as soon as Centrelink declared her a pensioner, we went to Qld Transport, did the paperwork and paid the pensioner rate.

The $439 in NSW is the registration and vehicle tax fee.
The CTP in NSW depends on your postcode and other things such as licence points etc , but to me is $315 via NRMA.
    Pink Slip inspection is $30.
Total is therefore to me $784 which will drop to $345.
In Sydney they pay much more CTP as Khos shows.

That was one big advantage when the missus was on a parenting pension as she was a stay at home mum, she got bugger all in payments because of what I earned but the free rego and other discounts helped out heaps.

Pushing almost $800 for a 6 cylinder in SA.

12 months for the Commodore is $774.

Would hate to see what a V8 would cost.
