At least when the centre bearing falls off they won't have any problems of overspeeding!

    Hi-Lux now comes breakable!

You won't find me on: faceplant; Scipe; Infragam; LumpedIn; ShapCnat or Twitting. I'm just not that interesting.

Apparently going over rough roads and over corrugations I heard on the News a few mins ago.
    OH BUGGER, HILUX IS BREAKABLE
Even with all the faults no doubt the 4WD mags will still gloat and vote toyos the best 4wd on the planet.

I wonder if the Prado has the same rear diff.It has the same inherent problem with transmission over heating as does the Hilux.

It can join the 100 series steering recall last week,it's pretty sad when you have to recall vehicles you stopped making 5 years previously. Pat

Danger factor was why this recall was done, one could "have complete loss of steering".

On another note my 18month old Hiace has pads that slide in the calipers,so they clunk if you go backwards & then forwards,& put on the brakes. It isn't just a small clunk,it's pretty loud & annoying.Normal, they recon.......None of the others we have clunk.

The bracket could give way on models manufactured between January 2005 and February this year, resulting in a loss of drive to the rear wheels.

"This is a very rare occurrence. For the condition to occur, frequent acceleration or deceleration, it also requires rough roads and high numbers of cattle grid crossings and this is predominantly happening in rural or regional areas," she said.
I hope Toyota's Country Border Security team have been advised to add the Lux to the list of soft vehicles that aren't allowed in.

That add sickened me to my stomach......this is Australia, not the America/Mexico border. Typical Toyota. One of their crapiest(?) adds ever.
