    Ean,

Not many prawns down there! Even if there were a few it might be a bit hard to pull in the nets

    Hey Andrew,
Yep it would be a toothfish boat, its actually a small 1 as the Austral Leader and Southern Champion are a hell of a lot bigger than the Harvester..

Has the trawler been swamped in this pic?

    Gay Erich,

I would say its just the angle of the pic, he's running more across the swell so I would say he's in the trough between the swell's...and remember the boat that has taken the pic is in the same sea's so its trying to ride the swell..

The boat is a 93 footer (28 metres) and the pictures were actually taken in the North Atlantic (see Photos — Hullish Weather on the North Atlantic | OceanLines). For details about the Harvester see PD 98 – “HARVESTER” - PD 198 – “OCEAN HARVEST”.

Despite it not being the Southern Ocean, the pictures are still fantastic. Thanks Ean.

For the photography buffs, the photos were taken with a Canon EOS 50D.

Incidently, the Austral Leader is 85 m, and the Southern Champion 87 m.

    Cheers
