I cant remember how long we set aside for getting to Cairns but due to the weather we were already a few days ahead.
our plan was to go to Byron Bay or Ballina next but we ended up at the Gold coast as that is where were going to go to the next day anyway so we just decided might as well just stay at the Gold Coast for an extra night which we did.
the coast drive there was really good and the lookouts and lighthouses were wonderful.

and here is our 2 toned hilux we got the tub and canopy together for $450 so just put that on instead of getting a white canopy and then cutting it to make the canopy fit.

we stayed at the Gold Coast for 4 night and while there we went to Sea World which was really good, Wet and Wild which was pretty good and Movie World which IMO was crap.
We also did a fair bit of shopping at the outlets and the markets at Harbourtown or whatever it is called.

Most of you who have been there in the last few years would know about the seal show which was probably the highlight of it ok maybe tie with the dolphins.

from there we went to my great uncle and aunty's place at Toowoomba where we stayed for a few nights which was great to have a proper meal and nice bed and also great to see them as I couldnt even remember them as it had been about 15 years since I had seen them.

from there we went to Ikea at Brisbane to have a quick look through My favourite store and of course have my swedish meatballs

Ok I just remembered we went to Ikea before Toowoomba so the next day after leaving Toowoomba we went to Australia Zoo but back to Toowoomba I think it is just south or east near the 2 fruitos which one has a big orange out the front there is a land rover s1 up on a pole at a tractor place from memory it was yellow I am sure some of you know about it but I didnt get any photos as I was driving

anyway so back on track now we went to Australia Zoo which was really good I would totally recommend it to anyone.

the bird show they had was the highlight of the day there though and watching the Jamboree? fly in was amazing but then again all the birds were and the show

we stayed the night at Rockhampton and did not do much there as we were pretty eager to move on.
so we did and we went to Townsville and went to lookout which was nice, and we had a swim there which was good too.
Even though we were not there long it still seemed like a fairly nice and civilised place.

we then headed off to Airlie Beach which seemed like a different world the water was so blue and we ended up spending the afternoon in the pool
