Hillsong being a church and the government wants to buy there votes. though I am a Christian and will always defend my beliefs any time belief is attacked, I
do absolutely agreee with FenianEel's statement. on other threads before the election I have spoken saying Church and State should always be kept seperate, and the State [
country] funding a Church like Hillsong is not Seperation of Church and State.
I would oppose the State funding my denomination--Our Denominational Schools are Funded by the State, and I do not like this, as I believe in
Total Seperation of Church and State.
But I do not believe that a Church should pay tax on any funds that a member donates to it from the money he has earned and paid tax on. I give offerings money happily to my Church, and would be upset if the Government tried to tax this money, donated freely when the Church passes around the offering bag/plate. But that is different to a Government giving money to a Church who makes a lot of money from property development. Apostle Peter said "
Silver and Gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee, Rise up and walk,"
Acts 3:6. SWee the Apostolic example is that Christians like Hillsong should not be hoarding wealth.
A Church that is led by God does not need money from the State
"And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin: [29]And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. [30]Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith? [31]Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? [32](For after all these things do the Gentiles seek

for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.
[33]But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and
all these things shall be added unto you."
Bible, Matthew 6:28-33.
"But
my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus."
Holy Bible, Phillipians 4:19.
"And he [
Jesus] said unto them, When I sent you without purse [
without money], and without food pouch, and
without shoes, lacked ye any thing? And they said, Nothing. [36]Then said he unto them, But now, he that hath a purse [
Money], let him take it, and likewise his food pouch: and he that hath no
sword [
Sword meaning Bible, Ephesians 6:17, Hebrews 4:12], let him sell his garment, and buy one."
Holy Bible, Luke 11:35-36.

If a Church like "Hillsong" asks the State for money the Government should tell them to go and read all these passages in the Bible, and then ask God for the money.
