20% discount for getting a cooloola and fraser permit at the same time i see.

So much for my nice little days out... would be nice if they allowed the barge operators at Tewantin to sell day passes as you get on.

So basically the government is admitting "they're gone" and going for every last cent they can.

I don't have a problem with permits. It cuts out the disrespectful idiots to a certain degree.

What I do have a problem with is the double dipping. Fraser, Teewah, Bribie and Moreton are all now under the QPWS and you need 4 seperate permits which are all roughly $200p/a. I would think you should just have a permit that covers ALL parks under one, like the situation in NSW.

Stradbroke is still issued by Redlands Council at this stage and $30 odd p/a. If it ever goes to QPWS it will hit the $200 mark, just like when Bribie went over from Caboolture Council.

You also get hit if you have more than one veheicle as each different one needs its own permit, so choosing to take a historic vehicle for a nice day out stings you again.

I would like to see a permit scheme that is transferable by person and gives blanket coverage. I'd pay more p/a for it, but like this is going to happen.

Seems they're copping stick and may change it.
As the Col. said, I think it's ordinary form, if you wanted to go Bribie, DI, Fraser etc., all seperate permits.
Even Lennox is now "permit only" and it's only about 5ks of beach.

Day pass added for Rainbow Beach drive

THE State Government may water down its controversial plan to charge holiday-makers to drive on Rainbow Beach with day passes now to be considered.

Day passes now may be included along with the monthly or yearly permits.

Sustainability Minister Andrew McNamara said the move was being considered following concerns from Rainbow Beach residents who feared the fees could cripple the Cooloola town's economy.

The Government plans to charge $37.10 for a monthly driving permit or $185.80 for a yearly pass.

I dont mind the idea of a state wide permit if it also covers the camping costs.

I can remember visiting Double Island Point some 20 years ago with 3 little ones in tow and of course all needing a toilet stop. What a suprise to see a just cleaned toilet(literally), stocked up with paper in the middle of nowhere, I said then, "what other country in world can do this"! and this is repeated just about everywhere you go these days.

I really don't know what you are all going on about. We have the best country in the world with the best of everything and the only way to save it, is to charge for access.
How about they just stop you going there altogether, maybe that would make you happy.
