I do not have a satnav-the wife fulfills this roll. Has anyone out there who has a satnav fitted ever been in the dilemma of having the satnav telling you to go one way and the wife telling you to go the other way? If so has any one had the b***s to go with the satnav and ignore the wife?

Yes, and, no it wasn't a sensible decision. The SatNav doesn't yell at you.
Do you know why SatNav mounts allow you to rotate the unit?
So women can rotate the map to the direction they want to go in

A satnav will not get the sulks if you take a wrong turn. It will not tell you you are stupid. It will not refuse all future requests for asistance. It will always be awake when you need it. It will always have the map in the correct orientation. It will always be on the right page. It will always start again if you ignore its instructions. That is what I have found anyway. And you do not have to be nice to it in order to keep the peace.
Yes, truly a rueful decision on my behalf. The arguement developed betwen the satnav and wife, while I couldnt tell which direction was coming from where.![]()
I found with the NAVMAN i had (got nicked out of the car, need to get a new one) it would tell me to go a particular way they I knew was longer. I knew how to get 80% of the way there but needed the satnav for the last bit of the journey but i would just start it when i left home..
I would take the shorter route to the point where i needed assistance. However most of the way there it would tell me to turn around and go back and was trying to get me on the road it said to go on first up. Only when i was really close to the destination would it recalculate the route to take me the way i knew was shorter.
Other than they they are great. They are awsome for people like me who barely drive off the freeways in sydney and if i miss a turn im stuffed.

Luckily for me my Mrs is geographically challenged and trusts my judgement. Just to be sure though we have John Cleese telling us where to go through the tom tom which keeps her amused.
