When was last time you had to recover a police car?

Thought you might get a giggle out of this. While in tassie we had a problem that involved the air ambo, ses and police. Anyhow on the drive out from the beach the nice new police 200 series cruiser got stuck after trying to recover the police Pajero who was trying to just drive on road pressures. Long story but some noisy V8 county had to recover the 200 series and my mate gaz recovered the Pajero.
The police were very happy to be helped and it was great to have a laugh with them and not get in the poop for pointing fingers. I'm not going to get to much into the full details as some people like a little privacy. But I did smile when I was informed my county was quite loud. Funny that. But the rookie did comment on how awsome it sounded and looked at 5000 rpm pulling the 200 up the dune. Sorry about the sand I placed on your bonnet and roof. Lol

    LOL, gotta love that.

I wish i could go 4wding like that at work.

In NSW we cant engage 4wd unless we have been to Goulburn and done the 4wd operators course. If we engage 4wd for any reason and the pooh hits the fan and we havent done the course we are deep in the pooh.

Im suprised the Tas Police shelled out for a 200 series, we dont get that expenditure, its cheap as cheap can be here in NSW. A D4 would be awsome, you'd never get me out of it if we got those here.

The Tas Police have looked at a D4 for their tow rig for one of their boats just a week or so ago. Not sure of the outcome of that yet.
Their LC200's have been a bit troublesome, one just had a re-chassis due to cracking...
One of their Powerstroke F250's had an engine detonation a while back too$$$$

Im told NSWP Fleet is 10million bucks in the red.

They buy bottom of the range **** cars which dont hold their resale value.

Instead of buying standard LPG falcons which use more than twice as much gas at more then half the price of petrol they should be buying SV6 commodores and XR6 falcons which hold their resale value, then selling them off at set km's. They are being forced to hold onto cars longer and longer now because they cant afford to sell them off earlier.

The only part of the fleet that makes money back is the Highway Patrol vehicles because they are buying the SS Commodores in the cool colours and the new XR6T's are being delivered with the Typhoon wheels and Brembo brakes because the standard XR brakes werent up to the task.
