    LR Specialist in Geelong needed

My son, who lives in the Bacchus Marsh/Geelong area, needs some work done on his V8 Disco.

He would normally bring it up to Wodonga for servicing but it is becoming increasingly impractical to do so.

If anyone can recommend a specialist in Bacchus Marsh/Geelong - even West Melbourne - it would be greatly appreciated.

I did a search and found Hunter Cuthill - Geelong - had received favorable comments but those were two years old - any update on this outfit?

    Thanks in advance.

I haven't used Hunter Cuthill myself, but as far as I know they are still going strong and I've only heard good comments about them.
They are ex Land Rover (Peck & Stokes) mechanics. I remember dealing with Gordon there and he seemed like a reasonable sort of bloke.

I'm not keen on Hunter Cuthill myself following an overheating problem I had.

Took it to them for the issue, and was told by Gordon that he cleaned the front of the radiator and put in a new thermostat, gave it a run around and all was good. A couple of hundred $$$ later, and driving it home it had the same overheating issue. He said to bring it back and he'd look at it again, and said it was most likely the head. Ended up going to a radiator bloke to check the cooling system over before returning to them, and what do you know... The radiator was blocked front and back with mud and stuff.

So, I wasted a couple of hundred with them, and could have possibly wasted a hell of a lot more too.

I personally won't take my Disco back there.

There is a 4WD specialist in Dalesford I've been meaning to check out.
You could give Witticks a try if you want someone local. The Wittick boys used to race mini coopers and owned various english cars so they're used to english quirks.

Hunter Cuthill - I know that the owner of Peck and Stokes even takes his own cars there to get serviced. Trusts them over his own guys. That cant be a bad sign.

Id use them myself if they were open on a weekend, but its hard to justify taking a day off work to drive it down there and wait around while they do the service.

    cheers

Thanks to everyone - your help really did help him out. The young bloke took the general advice and will contact the Romsey crew.

It is only a 20 minute or so drive from his home - so fairly convenient to boot.
