Oh yes, That reminds me. A word of warning, Wombat kills distributor caps and battery charging systems. On the odd occasion, it also causes sparks to exit from the exhaust pipe I heard.

Chris,
I have been a member for nearly five years. Because of where I live have not yet been to a meeting. Last year on Melb cup weekend was my first club run(to Robe) Had an absolute ball. I arrived and camped with about 20 people I had never met and got along with them all. They were a great bunch of people some of whom I have seen again and some I intent to catch up with later.
My wife and I both have done the driver training. Last year I got involved with helping at the show at Wandin. This was a rewarding experience.
If you want to meet like minded people and have great fun on club trips join.
I am sure you will not be disappointed.
Dave.
The blue V8 submarine?? That would be mudsloth... And at the time he was attempting this light water crossing :wasntme: he was only on 6 or 7 cylinders. He's well known around here, and anywhere there is a dam to drive through. :p
He has a channel on youtube too, and you'll find some posts of his in those trip reports I mentioned earlier.
LOL!!!
I drive a 99 TD5, had a 96 V8 before & have been a member for about 8 or 9 years now. my previous role at work i had to work saturdays so didnt go on many trips but plan to do a few now. i have done the driver training & is very good value. like a few previous posts, they can be long winded at times but i do enjoy it & am still a member! they show videos of previous trips etc. i probably attend about 7 or 8 meetings a year (none in Jan) you get the newsletter & can choose the trips you want. there are trips ranging from easy sight seeing to hard core damage stuff. kids always welcome ( i have 2 boys 6 & 7).
Dave.
Hi does anyone have any experience with both the LR Owners Club Vic and the Range Rover Club? Do they have different interests, numbers of trips/activities, other advantages?
TIA
We joined the LROCV when we bought Gracie, our 90, nearly 3 yrs ago now.
Great Club, with great tradition, & great people, who are always ready to talk to you.
Although We have a late model Defender, We've been to a couple of Series 1 Events, seen some really iconic vehicles, met some pretty nice owners, & learned a lot.
There is a very good monthly magazine included in membership,..very comprehensive with some great articles.
So from us, Yes,...membership recommended, Pickles.
Pickles, what happened to their website ? I was a member for 14 years and now its disappeared.
We joined a while back, attended a few events, all good fun and informative.
I think the more you put in the more you get back. They run plenty of trips, driver education is good.
Never met a bad member.
Cheers
Tony
