    Never lived with a D2 (I have a 97 D1 though) but can't imagine it would be anywhere near as refined as an L322. That BMW engine is a gem. Quick but economical.

    If you already have a 110 for the rough stuff, the L322 makes a good pair.

    Will be more expensive than a D2 for repairs if something breaks, but sometimes you can order the same part from BMW instead of Range Rover and strangely the BMW part is cheaper.

    If you need to put on 1,000Kms in a day there's nothing better than a new-ish Rangie. They have a much 'bigger' presence on the road than a D2, but are very easy to handle and it doesn't feel like a big car when you are driving it at all.
