PM me for account deposit details re upcoming class action.
I swear it will go towards keeping my Puma on the road.
All who contribute $50 or more are entitled to a schooner on me at my local.

    I agree with:

    1. Class action, even if it resulted in an agreement that they will
    a. Listen to end users.
    b. Build a better, more reliable product.
    2. $50-
    3. Someone else buying me a beer.
    4. Dealers who don't have a clue being stripped of said dealership status.
    5. Anything else that is positive that we can come up with.

That's reasonable....lets start with the Series 1 and work our way through every "POS" Land Rover has ever built.

Now that is what I would call a class action.

Austral LR in Brisbane do sell an extended warranty for Defenders, through the National Warranty Company.Looks like you can use a specialist repairer for both repairs & servicing. If you look in the small print, vehicles used for commercial use are not covered.

My LR Defender has it's full service history too, as provided by LR, both in the service booklet and in paper documentation. Neither list all the items that have been actually replaced/fixed under warranty. However, I demanded a full listing for myself, which after some arm twisting they provided. So perhaps as you didn't own your vehicle from new, you don't really know what was done to it in it's teething period.

for this our dealer was great e mailing and re mailing everything when ever we asked.

Yes, I remember now, the National Warranty Company was an alternative to the Allianz warranty at the time I purchased mine. A search of their name on the forum will find details of their policy etc. Didn't seem like it was as good as the Allianz one but hey, when there is no choice, it may be the way for people to go. Here is their website: National Warranty Company - Australia's best roadside assistance & largest range of warranty products

IMO, the NWC policy was vastly inferior to the dealer sold Allianze version. I have Austral's brochure for the NWC policy so if anyone needs to read it I'll scan it.

Doesn't surprise me to hear this policy is still available. It virtually covered nothing so their risk is minimal!

I read some of the "exclusion" page & have to agree. And it isn't real cheap.

It's definitely a feeble excuse that alliance don't do one because the Puma is a commercial vehicle. Most extended warranties exclude vehicles used for commercial use,but don't exclude commercial vehicles used for private use.

More than likely they are not telling the full story,it probably relates to the number of claims per vehicle.

The NWCo seems to offer 4 different warranty products (or levels of protection) (see their website). May be best to check each out before you dismiss them.

Well, when I came across this thread to say I'm disappointed about the extended warranty being dropped would be an understatement.

I was just in the local dealership a couple of weeks ago getting details/quote on extending the warranty on our Puma as the factory warranty runs out next June, and I'm only on the third diff Was planning to extend it after Christmas.

On the strength of this thread I contacted the dealership, and expecting the worse, said I'd like to extend the warranty, like right now.

Well, they did ! No mention of it no longer being available. The application form (Allianz) was emailed back/forth quickly and I've received a confirmation email today "Your Warranty Policy has now been issued and a PDS has been sent to you in the mail with your credit card receipt. Once again thank you for your . . . "

When I receive the PDS I'll confirm that's it's the real deal.

    Dirk........
