This morning as I drove into Dubbo (in the 2a) I passed just at the 80 sign a Disco1 progressing slowly and laying down a smoke screen. I would have stopped if it had and if I had not been in a hurry to get to an appointment to get a pink slip for the 2a. (No problems).

I mentioned it to my mechanic (not a Landrover mechanic, but does my pink slips), and he ventured the opinion that they would have no chance of getting major engine work done before Christmas. (he is pretty near booked up and then is off until 10/1.

Dubbo is recovering from flooding. For example I parked at Riverdale to go to the PO and NRMA. The watermark is about half way up the escalators from the parking area to the cinema. The escalators are being worked on by Otis, and the cinema says they will reopen Friday. Elsewhere there are many streets still cordoned off due to water damage or damage due to unaccustomed heavy traffic when used as detours. The information centre has a water mark about a metre and a half above floor level.
