and they are both black? Maybe its just the way they market them on the piranha site. I dont think they are ugly but I dont like the look which is why I have never really looked that much into them. For a product that cost a fair wad of money, well on the piranha site anyway, they have very little info available on them. This is most likely why.

With cheap HIDs the starter/ignighter is very variable in its reliability, and the component most likely to fail.
If you don't like trucks, stop buying stuff.

It's a bit of a lottery Lou, some last five minutes, others outlast the car almost and until they go to lunch there's no way to know.

Thats the joys of electronics I suppose. I have had super cheap stuff last for ages. I still have a cheapo einhel angle grinder (what they were called before they came GMC) and its still going, its 13yrs old now.

Its the risk we take when we try the cheaper chinese stuff. Some stuff you have a win on, some stuff you dont.

    Wow!

Thank you to all who replied, seems like a split view on these, i personally like the look of them...and i guess it really is a gamble, but as stated sometimes we buy top brand stuff and get complete crap or the reverse of that can happen.

I will continue to look around as i have only just discovered this market of lower priced HIDs... Sometimes i wish there was no choice

    James.

The one thing that has disappointed me with cheap spotties (HID included) has been the dreadful beam patterns they produce. That alone puts me off trying any more. A well designed reflector will not just make a hole in the night.

    Alternative to complete spotties

If you are'nt too keen on lashing out on complete spotties.. this may be a more economical way if you already have some otherwise OK ones

I take back the ugly part, they actually suit the Deefer. they do look mean.
May be it's the black casing. The safety orange ones are still ugly in my opinion
