unfortunately most things arent done to the manufactures specifications....sarking should always be used in conjunction with anti ponding board going from the last roof battern to fascia...it also should not be pulled 100% tight across the rafters/trusses as to form a trough or gutter between each, making water flow and air flow better....
all tile roofs leak....the amount varies

Here is a photo of the Trinity Green estate in Dalby. All new houses and mostly slab on ground. I think there are three houses on low stumps.

This photo was taken just before the peak of the first 3.5m flood.
Some of these houses did go under in the 3.7m peak but only by a few inches.
I think a few got water into their garages in the 3.5m peaks.
As I said the streets are designed to channel the water away.

Sarking
Been some discussion of sarking on this thread.
I have a house with a tile roof and no sarking but a well vented roofspace and have been considering putting sarking in, battened on the underside of the trusses!
Another thought I had was as I have a high peak in the trusses I considered putting ply on top ot the ceiling in the roofspace , could use it for storage above structurally sound areas, like above the hallway walls.
What do you think???
