Terry is right that bike is not learner legal.

I guess no matter what bike I get on my L's they are all going to be around the same speed. But it is seldom about speed. Its how it does things. Many are writing a lot of good things about the Hyos...

Caine just a question are you going to use your bike for the tests or hire a cb250? The heavier more powerfull bike is good for the road but the tests are in first gear you may make 2nd in the emergency stop section but a light weight bike is best for the test. I like to go too fast and had to redo my rider proficency test i passed on the 550 (I have been riding for over 30years) but would not recommend it, a 250 or road trail is best if you can get one for the day.

I would go a 250 for day to day but they seem to be revving their nut off doing 60.....and I like longer runs so I was targeting the larger motors....

I just checked and the GT650R Hyosung is LAMS approved and here I was just saying to Cain off line that I think the Harley 883 pile of poo was learner legal, double and triple wrong all in one day.

I think I better give up trying to give good advice on this motorcycle lark ...seems Vlad was right all along.

By the way Boogers advice on what bike to sit your test on is good advice exactly for the reasons he gives.

It might be the 650 but they are heavily restricted. I have been told that once you get your full lic they can have another map put on to the ECU to give them more power..

I believe the duc 620 is also restricted but it is a mechanical restriction.....

For the MOST, you don't want to have to worry about changing up to 2nd...you only want to stay in first. Less to concern yourself with. It looks a simple test, but the cone wave and u-turn **** a lot of people up. That and head checks. Miss one head check, 3 points. Miss all three and you are cracked off. It's an easy thing to forget.

Regarding bike choice...again, it really is a case of you only get what you pay for. I'd get a jap bike over the korean bikes in a heartbeat. They are cheap for a reason. You want to be able to ride it when you want...not have it sitting in a workshop waiting 4 weeks for parts to arrive. Hyosung - think Hyundai 20 years ago.

Went to Aitkens yesterday and had a feel of a few. Duc, honda, yammy....

Bloke there was too concerned about his paperwork and attended to it. Then I saw a couple come in and he approached them.....wont be going back there.

Yes they are. Like I said earlier, depends what you want to use it for. Buzzing around the city or long country roads etc.

I must admit, just like the pic above, the more I look at the Duc the more desirable they are becoming......street cred.....it may get the better of me
