Similar questions to this have been constantly asked, have a look at the cost of an air locker, snorkel, shock, etc on numerous U.S sites then try and find one in Oz thats even close.
Made here sold there MUCH cheaper .
And you have retailers trying to blame the GST for the rush to online shopping WT did they think would happen if they try to sell you an item with a 40-100%+ mark up?

I would say 47L as the new sizes have only just hit local stores before Christmas.

Many reasons for the pricing issue and not limited to globalisation, price sold by local manufacturer as an export versus local sale, local dealers overheads etc., etc.

    Does make you wonder though.

The size is 50 US quarts (= 47 litres). Fridge would be 120 volt AC and not 240 volt (as well as 12 and 24 volt DC). That said, it is still about half the price of essentially the same fridge sold in Australia. ARB is an Australian company. I don't know where their fridges are made, but even if that was in the USA, they shouldn't be half the price they are here.

I think you will find that the A/C input is 100-240V ARB Fridge Freezers | Products | ARB 4x4 Accessories

You won't find me on: faceplant; Scipe; Infragam; LumpedIn; ShapCnat or Twitting. I'm just not that interesting.

One of the main reasons is that the US economics is a lot lower than ours, eg a Mcdonalds worker here earns approx 20$ per hr and in the US $14 per hr, for the same job. This is mainly due to the fact that here in Australian unions (not to start a war) demand higher wages and longer holidays so on and so on.

Ask a Bunnings worker what they get and you mite wanna quit your current job.

So we the public have to pay higher prices, If we did not have to fork out such high wages most products would be a lot cheaper. This is why a lot of stuff is from of shore.

I buy a lot from the US and I do agree that it is a total joke when you can buy form overseas at half the price and twice the quality and half the shipping time eg US to AUS 5-7 days.

You are probably correct but they are marketed in the USA as 120 volt.
