    Difference between D1/TD5 and D11/TD5

    Hi.
In the market for a diesel Disco and was wondering what the difference between a D1TD5 and a D2TD5 is if any and the rest of the vehicle apart from cosmetic changes.
    Thanks

D1 did not have TD5. D1's were fitted with 4 cyl TDi 200 or TDi 300. The Disco experts will clarify any difference between these and when the change over from 200 to 300 was.

Sorry, what I meant was the D11 model as apposed to the D11 update with the twin headlights.
    Thanks

D2 update (D2a) had fixed most of the electrical problems, has stronger body mounts and a bigger transmission cooler. I think the intercooler is also slightly bigger. All D2a's also have CDL (mid term D2's didn't have it, they relied entirely on traction control, you'll find plenty on here about THAT misconception).
Overall, the D2a is a better car but you'll pay quite a bit more for a good one.

    From what I read---
The D2a TD5's go better, different ECU,
They still have both the TD5 show stoppers though

Mine ate a near new Commodore V6 yesterday
Pretty sure a D11 pushes a bit more dirt than a D1 too

Are you sure the D2a's had a larger ATF cooler? First time I've heard that in all of my ATF cooling endeavours.
    Cheers

No, not sure about that, I respectfully accept the mistake if I made one

But it IS a better car over all.
