option 3 burn car, claim as malicious damage
Over the last month, the Rangey has suffered damage to multiple damage points, pretty much 1 on each corner of the car.
I haven't had a lot of experience with car insurance (thankfully) and am guessing that the only way I'll be able to claim is to present the damage as 1 incident - which it kind of is... it's 1 incident spread out over a month...
Option 1 - Report multiple incidents and hope for the best
Option 2 - I found it like this when arriving back from holidays
What are the issues here? Any suggestions?
Thanks,
D
option 3 burn car, claim as malicious damage
Accumalative damage over time....carparks etc occasioned from vehicles unknown. Bull**** usually brings people unstuck...especially with insurance companies. You tell them it's burnt...they'll want a police report yada yada yada......
We made inquiries on an insurance claim with regard to a car that had front and rear bumper damage from 2 separate incidents and also minor hail damage and were told that each incident had to be claimed as a separate claim and they would total up the damage to see if the vehicle was an economic write-off. There was a time limit of 5 years from the incident to make the claim.
So if we had proceeded to repair the car we would have had to pay 3 excesses.

If the excess is $1,000 per claim, is it worth committing a fraud and risking the potentially serious consequences if caught, to save $3,000? I wouldn't do it.

And would you talk about it on an internet forum, this could bite if even in the future you had a real claim.
