My solution to getting better driving lights was to fit a pair of secondhand Super Oscars, driving light lens, not pencil beams, and add 35W HIDs. Took a very good light (100w lamp) to an fantastic light for under $300. Pair of lights were $100 at cash converters, and HID 35w, 6000k, H1 kit was $200 off ebay. Had them for a number of years now and still very good, compared to modern HID native lights. Would stick with 4300k HIDs next time.
Think about adding HIDs to your existing lights, you will be pleasantly surprised at the improvement. AND when LEDs are affordable, upgrade.
