What would life be without a Rangie?
Still it needs tyres and rego, so $1600 further to spend.
The coolant throttle heater, leaks ,so I have to replace that, not big money, the rocker covers leak, so not big money just a lot of time .
Then the broken part for convertor, see my Qu, in lpg section.
But with low kms, the vehicle statred off new in Southport QLD, sold for $43,500 with 56,000kms on it in 06, don't know who had it after and how if ended up in TAS.
But I thought it a good buy, even though cost me over $500 on the boat and stamp duty and transfer another $230 to tas govt.
costs so far
$7750car
$ 500 trip
$ 230 Transfer & Stamp duty
$1600 tyres and new rego vic
= $10,080 for a 2000 D2 ES Leather with all the fruit with sequential injected LPG, retaining full petrol tank with 160k on the clock.
Seq Gas worth over $5K if I had to fit it, my old D1 needs new tyres any way, so the tyres on this D2 is a trade off in price
today officially reged in Vic, no roadworthy was required, simply had to bring vehicle to get vin and engine numbers checked.
loop hole? I transfered the reg over to the state I bought it in and provided a address in that state. So since the car was already in my name, they just charged me for new plates and the rego in vic. I had paid the stamp duty in TAS ( cheaper % rate.)
Was all too easy, the only hold up was finding the compliance plate under all the bells and whistles in the engine bay.
I ordered some Michelins shoes for it, not doing any mud or extreme offroading, so will appreciate the quieter tyres. The D 1 cooper sts just last and last, I reckon I've got 100,000 on them already., but bad in wet and noisy
