Blardy hell....what is it with grown men having a dummy spit cause someone was a meany to them on a forum...FFS....( Doesn't apply to Tombie cause he is bigger than me :p). I've had my fair share of stoushes in the past....those that have been around would remember me and ol Dobbo (we are now facebook buddies and have even spoken on the phone).

I've bumped uglies with Rovercare......I even have with Tim (Drivesafe) yet we are still mates....pass each other on the road at least once a week. Chucaro and I have dealt it out on occasions...though bit harder these days as he obviously isn't using spell check like he used to :p so bit hard to understand the "spanglish". Plus there have been other's as well.

Now we have the Soapbox......where only the thickest of skin's dare enter and funnily enough...no real drama's despite the "heat" than can be generated.

I've been corrected rather bluntly in the past, got hot under the collar and thought bugger it. finally reread the post and while I dont like the way some things were written have to agree they were right and I was wrong

I think the replies (how ever harsh) are perfectly in line with the attitude to which they are replying.

Personally I Have not haf an Issue with Tim and he's always gone out of his way to answer all my (bizzare) questions and recommended products for my intended applications that meant he would make less money but suit y end use better.

That's my measure of service, if do yourself out of a larger sale while giving the customer exactly what they've asked for and do it with a smile. But someone with large claims and doesn't have anything forthcoming to back it up (and I'm someone who'll not only ask for proof but also ask to be taught why plus try to have some knowledge before I ask anyway) and I'll have the grain of salt ready.

Just had a read through of that thread - WOW! That sort of stuff reminded me why I stopped going to a certain US based sailing forum - too much testosterone... Maybe this thread explains why D3/4 owners never wave to me?

It might not be just about having thicker skin, it might be about finding more "socially acceptable" ways of disagreeing with someone? Either way, its a bad sign for a forum when people start leaving for this sort of thing.

'akelly' Ive been formulating on this all for a whiles now. Im not yet certain all variables have been accounted for but I think that we can simplify the relatively recent changes to the overall vibe of AULRO with the following:

OCF α {1 / (TocL x $) + (bnt:p)}

where:
OCF: Overall Chill Factor
TocL: Tare of chosen Landy
$: price of chosen Landy
(bnt:p) bent'n'twisted to pristine panel ratio


It seems, from my looking through 'The Pinnacles', as chosen landy price and weight increases... chill factor markedly decreases? Note that I wasnt sure quite how to factor in the bent'n'twisted to pristine panel ratio, my gut feeling is that it needs a weighting factor - but Ill leave that to the crowd to decide.
