Yes. They have resolved quite a number of cases to my satisfaction in relatively quick time. And their "live" assist is good too.

I just set my own limit and never budge on it. Last thing I tried to buy was a ride on mower. I lost in the last 10 seconds. Funny that the seller offered my a second chance buy of the item 3 minutes after the auction ended. I just never responded as there is no way they could of had a buyer dispute that quick.

Well I am glad that ebay has resolved issues for some of you - but for me nothing has happened.

Sold a car for a friend a while back - the wining bidder who actually viewed and test drove the vehicle before bidding said that they did not want the car and would not be paying. I lodged a dispute and nothing happened - even tried chasing it up to no effect. In the end the car was sold privately for much less than the ebay bid.

Ebay is good when it works but when it doesn't it is crap.

sold 3 cars on ebay in the past 2 months and just cant get over no matter how clear you make an auction there's always idiots wanting to take it for a "burn around the block"

Its like retail....your dealing with the repugnant human spawn of society and you can't filter out potential buyers by smell and intelligence alone....

No matter how well you list something, how honest you are, even if the buyer inspected it before bidding and said they were happy when the collected it, you can't make them give you good feedback......or any at all....even when you left good feedback the second you got paid.

PS: sorry f anyone here sent annoying questions about some valiants about 6 weeks ago

funny you mention that - one of the cars was a white 95 commadore and so many people asked if it came with a second set of wheels as it still had factory stock on it

I have had a number of issues over the years with both sellers and buyers and have reported them but ebay has never done anything. I have a case open on a non payer and nothing is happening - as a seller I cannot even leave negative feedback on this non paying buyer.

Service and ebay should not be used in the same sentence.

They stopped sellers being able to leave negative feedback some time ago because sellers were waiting for the buyer to leave feedback and if the buyer left negative feedback they would to, just to spite them. I bought a game off a bloke and when I got it the packaging was in some asian language and so were all the instructions, he claimed to be an australian seller. So i asked for a refund and got no reply, I sent a second email and no reply. So I left negative feedback saying he had poor communication and a poorly described item, within 10 minutes he left negative feedback for me saying I was a trouble maker and didnt read the item description, despite paying at the time I purchased the item buy it now.

I dont use ebay so much anymore, its to expensive to sell unless you make some decent mark up on your products, especially now that they push paypal, they get to double dip on fees.

I've had something similar happen, the seller made a second chance offer very soon after the auction ended and I lost it by a couple of dollars. I suspected shill bidding. At the same time as the second chance offer was made the seller wanted me to call him to negotiate the price. I just accepted the second chance offer. Soon after that the item was mysteriously no longer available - I got the sold to the highest bidder story, blah, blah.

I simply left negative feedback and reported the seller to Ebay for shill bidding, Ebay replied that it would investigate - a few days later the seller was no longer an Ebay member.

If ever I think a seller is shaky or has a low transaction count and/or less than 98% feedback I will only bid on a cash on pickup basis.
