    Tyre supplier from the US

With the $ AUS ` so strong , I think someone had said you could get 235 85 R16 BFG KM2 Mud Terrains for about $ 143 AUS landed here.

I have tried a few times to get a confirmation through 4WD parts in the US but no response.

Can anyone suggest another supplier please

Try Tire Rack - Your performance experts for tires and wheels Pete.

I am looking at getting some BFG KM2's in 255/85/16 for the Fender from here.

Do you think freight would be any cheaper if we combine orders

land864, although i dont know the implications or $ of shipping to Aus i agree with 3 Lions.

for me, purchasing tires for my corvette is not a cheap endeavor. with that said Tire Rack is the cheapest for the quality tire you might need...

I haven't found anywhere that cheap. I've just ordered my second set of tyres from tirerack.com

The first were 5 x 215/75R15 BFG ATs for the wife's Vitara. From memory, they worked out about $600 cheaper, even with shipping.

I'm waiting on the delivery of my second order - 6 x 235/85R16 BFG MTs. Shipping was a bit more expensive, being bigger tyres and 1 extra, but I still saved about $300-$400 on buying them locally. I'm waiting on a reply from tirerack and a couple of other mobs to see if they have any slower but cheaper delivery options.

Be aware they do not have any online or over the phone payment options. The only method is to do a wire transfer with your bank. This cost me $40, which sux, but still worth doing.

consolidating shipping isn't worth it I don't think, as you ould run the risk of your purchase being over $1000, meaing you would have to pay import duty. I could be wrong on this.

To digress, I'm having second thoughts about the size I've just bought, and think I'd rather have bought 255/85R16 (the current size on my Defender).

    Hi Ranga

Quote just received from Tire rack for 4 off 235 85 R16 BFG KM2MT's is $ 242 ea supply only , deliv to my home address.

Add fit and balance and I reckon a local price I got for $ 310 ea ( fitted and balanced from a quality tyre place know for excellent balance and FE align) is not too bad.

Mmmm , save $200 or support the local guy

I agree - supporting the local guy is better than saving $200. With the 6 tyres I bought, it worked out to saving about $400, so worth the effort I thought.

No your not wrong at all. You need to keep the value of your purchase / order below $1000.

I can see that you may save a couple of bucks if two or three people all got a set and had them delivered to different places in oz. At least the first half of the trip would be consolidated.

I have bought from Mac McNabb at tire rack and highly recommend him although it is being noticed that shipping is creeping up as the us$ is dropping

It won't be when duty kicks in for orders over $1000
