My brother got pulled up several months ago for speeding coming back from down south on the freeway.
The Coppa saw he had a gps unit stuck on his dash and when he said he questioned the speed she had said he was doing (over 15kph extra), the coppa asked if he had his gps on at the time and he said yes he did. She asked what his gps showed, he checked it and said it showed he had been up to 5 kph over the speed limit. So she booked him for the lower speed and said nothing else.
Mind you if his gps had shown he was doing over 15 kph over he would have been in the crappa, so it works both ways.
I guess it is hard for the cops to argue against gps in a court so in this case they didn't bother. Has anyone else heard of this happening as it did with my brother?
cheers,
Terry
