If you mean Wirriba Ridge, then there's no access for cars these days.

As Scouse said Wirraba Ridge is closed as is The Hunter Main Trail west of Three Ways (since about 1996). Used to be a nice run through to Dunns Swamp and Rylstone.

However, the Hunter Main NE from Three ways is open as is the run up to Three Ways from Baxter Junction (near Mt Kindarun) plus Commission Rd and the Howes Valley Trail - all pretty easy but a nice loop drive all the same.

The top of Mt Kindarun is now private property so you can't see the views from there anymore but you can still visit Sheepskin Hut just off the Hunter Main.

Nothing due west from Putty - pretty much all relatively small private holdings now. Don't know of a 'hanging rock' in the area.

Sounds like I might have to head up that way for a run, last time I was anywhere (off Putty road) up that way it was all very much alight. (1994)

Have made the run up there for the day and covered the loop rd around the 3 ways. We entered from Putty.
All the tracks are in good shape and can be driven at good speed.
Plenty of Roos on these tracks from about 3pm.
We took plenty of detours from the main tracks for some adventure runs, scenery is pretty hard to come by as the bush has grown right up to the tracks.
I recommend a stop at Grey gums on the putty rd.

I used to go bush near there in the late 80s with a group of mates in Land Rovers. I can't remember exactly, we'd go in near Webb Creek Ferry and come out on the Putty Road near some school or prison or something.
