I had nissan diesels for many years and replace the odd throttle shaft oring or top housing gasket.normally when I modify the housings to tune to suit local diesel.
pajero shaft seal died but long after the timing advance corroded into the casing-water falls to the bottom.
replaced a dephi pump with less than 4K hrs.they stock new ones as fast moving parts for less than you can replace the seals.
pumps a dime a doz, easy to get and only 200-250 bucks and that was last year, Hillbillywheelchair? paid about that last year when he was in SA. so i doin't understand your comments or some one is telling you a porkie.
it seems that the 300 tdi fuel pump goes any way at around the 200 000 klms mark ( give or take) this is regardless of fuel used. there are those who have fitted an electric pump as a replacement, it may sound a bit cheaper than 200 bucks for a mechanical one, but by the time you mount wire up relay etc etc.
I think you blokes are getting confused, there is a lift pump that are cheap and an injector pump, the one this thread is about that are exxy. The injector pump can and are damaged by poor fuel or contaminates. Pat
You are right. I thought they were talking IP,s when they are thousands cheaper.
