    Banned the wearing of hoodies

I do not know what it is going on the the Gold Coast, security guard acting like in this case it is a bit of a worry
A MOTHER and her four-year-old boy have been stopped from entering a Geraldton shopping centre because the child was wearing a hoodie top.

Now, I just wonder, hoodie tops are a western type of vestiment, what would be happen if a customer go to the same shop wearing a Burka

I applaud the banning of hoodies, they are ugly and there's very little need for them indoors and particularly in Queensland's coastal regions.

You should be made to remove hoodies and bike helmets anytime you enter a high theft area like shopping malls. If you don't like the idea stay outside of the private property.

You won't find me on: faceplant; Scipe; Infragam; LumpedIn; ShapCnat or Twitting. I'm just not that interesting.

I'm pretty sure that Geraldton is in WA, not that it matters

My 15yo loves to wear a hoody and wouldn't hurt a fly but I make sure I remind him to drop it indoors or around people. Why he asks? I answer with either
    "You look like a crim....."
"You look like some Gangsta wannabe from a Rage film clip"
    "You're embarrassing me.......".

They all have the desired effect.

That's the problem, I haven't had my cuppa today and sadly last week I lost my reading/computer glasses and the only ones I have left are 2 prescriptions old and giving me headaches.

So I'm on a very short fuse till the new ones arrive.

BTW: You never know what a 4 year old will get up to! They're double the trouble of the terrible two's!

By banning hoodies for everyone rather than differentiating on age makes it easier for security so I can see that as a reason.

I'm glad to see NSW Police will be getting the power to demand the removal of the burqa in order to identify a person.

Not unreasonable when you think about it. The Mexicans use kids to carry drugs across the border. If caught, they can't be gaoled, only sent back to Mexico.

Using kids to carry bombs is not beyond the realms of possibility when dealing with Muslim (or other) extremists.

As ron says if you are going to make a rule it should be for every one so the guards dont have to argue with mum saying but he,s only 4 1/2.

I note that in the press release on the subject, they were careful to express the legislation was about face veils of any sort, not just the Muslim burka.
