    the ground shakes

    11.30 am the house had a steady shake, in Tecoma Vic and one else fell this tremor?

    That's interesting. I did feel something down here at Dandenong, but I work in an office above a large Heavy Earth workshop, and we have rollers in and out, and it is not unusual to have the office vibrate if the mechanics don't turn the vibrator off on them. I have just had a look, and there are no rollers in the yard or workshop at the moment, so I could have, but we all thought the last tremour - about 6 or 8 months ago was a roller too...

    The Aust shake made the news here in NZ...

    Edit1: just had a beaut shake here in the manawatu, seismographs are showing it was a widespread shake. Will be interesting to see where and depth...

    Edit2: magnitude 6.5, 150km depth, 30km west of Taupo. news here...

    Hmm My daughter didn't know about an earthquake in Melb until her sister and I rang her, obviously in Carlton it wasn't felt

    I felt it and it was a sinlge jolt move in one direction in Croydon. It was a move of about 35cm. I was very excited to be an earthquake survivor.

    Same as last years.
    didn't even noticed it.
    and the epicentre is only 40km away.
