Any opinions on best campground on Moreton Is - heading off there early September. Blue Lagoon sounds good, central to everything, fires allowed I believe.

I’m pretty sure the dinosaurs died out when they stopped gathering food and started having meetings to discuss gathering food
A bookshop is one of the only pieces of evidence we have that people are still thinking
I go to moreton quite often in my honest opinion none of the campgrounds are that great best camping is on the eastern beach south of middle road . if you need to be in a camp ground then i would choose blue lagoon as its eastern side which is a lot quieter and less touristy.

Moreton has heaps of great spots, and I prefer beach camping, out of the campgrounds and away from all the other folk.
Do you have children with you?
Are you specifically after facilities?
Comboyuro is up Nth, but has good areas, hot showers, fires allowed and close to the shop, if you want that sort of thing.
The Wrecks is good if you want to dive/snorkel the wrecks or go to Tangalooma, but it is popular.
Anywhere on the Eastern side will have calm water and less wind, but more people, but it's pretty quiet in winter all over the island.
Enjoy!![]()
Oh yeah forgot this:
Moreton Island National Park and Recreation Area - Camping information (Department of Environment and Resource Management)
Has the details, maps and layout of camping areas and campgrounds.
