rugby S15 final, Brad Thorn the real champion,

Well , Qld won.A great game, with both sides playing their heart out. We in Australia, with our tiny playing numbers compared to NZ.., have slowly been catching up.A lot of media attention has been focused on the " champions " , in my opinion, one of the best champions has been Brad Thorn. What an honest, hard working player he has been for NZ., Crusaders, not to mention the Broncos, Qld Origin, and The Kangaroos.Looking forward to the World Cup.Good luck to all involved. Bob [heard on the grapevine, all All Black players have been given special instruction in the Heimlich manoeuvre,in case they choke, AGAIN! ]

    PS.Brad Thorn's trophies - NRL premiership - Brisbane Broncos
State of origin series Qld Maroons
    International R.L.champions Australian Kangaroos
    Bledisloe Cup N.Z. All Blacks
    Super 14 champions Canterbury Crusaders

A bookshop is one of the only pieces of evidence we have that people are still thinking

I didn't get to see the whole game, but what I did see was brilliant, well done the QLD Reds.

Got to agree Bob, great game well won by Qld Reds. Brad Thorn has been a great player for years and it is a shame to see him bow out on a loss, but he is definitely no loser. Footballers shouldn't be held up as role models the way they are but if a kid wants to emulate any footballer you could do as lot worse than copy Thorn.

The biggest problem with the result of the game is that the economy on the Gold Coast will now grind to a halt until the resident NZ'ers stop crying and come back out of hiding. A couple of years ago when the Wallabies won just one Bledisloe Cup game our local pub and pizza shop had a 70% decline in takings for the couple of weeks. It wasn't until the next match (they won) that things started getting back to normal. After the last world cup they held a parliamentary enquiry as to why they didn't come home with "Bill". If they don't win this world cup I reckon half the country will neck themselves.
