Tactics... a terrible thing.
Well what a Farce today at the Townsville race. Lowndes slowed and let Whinchup pass to bolster his championship points lead. Very remminiscent of the 77 Moffat/Bond 1/2 farce. Many will argue wll thats team racing, but that is rubbish. IMHO when blatant like that both drivers should lose points from the entire round and maybe more.
Unacceptable and will continue to turn this form of motorsport into an absolute joke.
I like Larkos comment after talking to Roland Dane and then exiting the pit garage. Larko the straight talker.

I dont think there is much wrong with the Holden vs Ford format, but when team orders start taking precedence over racing it is just getting pathetic. Starting to head the way of GP racing which is worse.

much as i admire mr loundes,
give me the moffat and bond era races anytime. a lot more entertaining and a whole lot more to follow than just the v8's going round and round in ever decreasing circles.

They're a bit before my time, but that looked like an era when whoever could hang on long enough would win.
Top level domestic racing has been criticised for as long as I can remember in terms of generating partity and good racing. Fast cars and fast teams are always at the front - circuit/weather depending at times.
As I've always said, they should model handicapping on performances such as used in the ol' BTCC where RWD/FWD/AWD all have their own base weights, and then the winners have additional weight. Here is excellent, close racing and there is no room for team orders - every man for himself!

This is what it's all about, racing and winning against other brands.

I'm undecided. It depends if you view it as a team sport. I like to watch Le Tour and team riders will not only give up their position to the team leader but will also give them their bike.
I recall Brock, at Bathurst (mid 80's) taking the second vehicle after "05" stopped. In those days you could register as the third driver of another vehicle. (My memory is a bit vague on this one but pretty sure that's how it happened)
Having said all that, it was good to see Weber ignore team orders last night and attack Vitel. (He'll still moan about it though....thank god we got another aussie in F1)
